What is an AO Booster?
The damaging effects of free radicals and the increase of chronic degenerative
diseases in the US and other western nations are subjects that are receiving more and more
attention from medical and nutritional scientists. It's becoming increasingly evident that
supplementation with a wide variety of antioxidants is the key to prevention of free radical
damage and to the maintenance of optimal lifelong health.
USANA's HealthPak 100 was designed and engineered to provide the ultimate
in antioxidant protection. The AM packet- containing two Mega Antioxidants and one Proflavanol
90 (in addition to a Chelated Mineral and Active Calcium tablet)- is perfectly balanced
by an additional Mega Antioxidant and the AO Booster in the PM pack. This provides you
with optimal and balanced antioxidant protection- day and night.
Designed to add a significant antioxidant boost
to the powerful formula already available in the Essentials, the AO Booster ingredients
include several potent free radical scavengers. Specifically, the AO Booster contains
an additional 150 IU of vitamin E, 125 mg of turmeric extract, 25 mg of additional bioflavonoid
complex, 1000 µg
of resveratrol, and 50 mg of rosemary extract.
Resveratrol and rosemary, both powerful antioxidants, are in no other
USANA products. First isolated from grape skin, Resveratrol has been studied extensively
for its free radical scavenging effects and has shown several properties associated with
the maintenance of healthy cardiovascular function. Resveratrol has also been shown to
prevent lipid peroxidation 1 and may help protect LDL from oxidation, helping support healthy
cardiovascular function. Resveratrol may also helps reduce platelet aggregation 3 and induces
vasorelaxation 4 . Rosemary is another effective antioxidant 5 that also possesses numerous
other activities beneficial to optimal health.
This combination of natural antioxidants in the AO Booster, together with
the comprehensive blend of vitamins and phytochemicals in the Mega Antioxidant and the
power of Proflavanol 90, provides complete antioxidant protection unmatched by any nutritional
product available anywhere.
